#1- This is a public forum and membership is at the absolute discretion of the Forum Owner / Administrator.

#2- Users are permitted to register one username only. If you want to change the username at any stage you will have to contact the administrators.

#3- Freedom of speech is a fallacy.

#4- Posts that are rude, offensive, insulting, racist or slanderous are forbidden and will be deleted.

#5- If a member continues to post these types of posts, their membership will be cancelled.

#6- If you are moderated and you wish to discuss it, PM the moderators or the administrator.

#7- If you have concerns with a post made in the forum, PM the moderators or the administrator.

#8-Stirring trouble in the forums may result in a cancelled membership.

#9- Forum Owner / Administrator reserves the right to modify forum rules as and when deemed necessary. Such rules will be binding for all members.

#10- Pictures that contain obscene or sexually oriented content are not allowed and will be removed. If a member continues to post this content their membership will be cancelled.

#11- Flaming, insulting or slanderous posts regarding other Forums will not be tolerated and you will have your membership cancelled.

#12- Spamming of any kind will not be tolerated. If it is deemed your posts are spam your Membership WILL be cancelled.

#13- While the administrators and moderators of this forum will attempt to remove or edit any generally objectionable material as quickly as possible, it is impossible to review every message. Therefore you acknowledge that all posts made to these forums express the views and opinions of the author and not the administrators, moderators or webmaster (except for posts by these people) and hence will not be held liable.

It was decided at the June 2007 committee meeting that ALL CLUB MEMBERS who use the forum must identify themselves by putting their name and or membership number into their forum signature. Failure to do this WILL see your posts deleted.

Please add you name by editing your profile, that can be accessed via the Profile link found at the top of the page.

Secondly I have been asked/volunteered to be a moderator to help with cleaning up some of the old posts that are no longer relevant. This has come about due to the ever increasing need for more web space and therefor more expense.

Lastly the Forum Rules will be enforced and posts that infringe these rules WILL be deleted

Is it not sufficient to have the LROCV member number?

The number is available to the membership and the committee if I cause scandal, but I'd rather not plaster my name on a public forum. I've had enough theft for one lifetime.

Posts on the Forum

To all contributors to the LROCV Forum, remember this is, for the most part, a public forum. The LROCV considers it one of the better vehicle specific Forums on the Web as it doesn't have the number of spurious posts that contain (or imply) offensive language and images, personal attacks or other abusive content. Let's keep it that way!

When posting remember the following rules -
1. No offensive language or images.
2. No implied offensive language. (There is no point attempting to disguise an offensive post behind mis-spelling. If it's phonetically or visually obvious its still offensive).
3. Do not post anything racist, slanderous or insulting.
Familiarise yourself with the forum rules

Let's all strive to keep this forum the best Land Rover Forum on the Web. So before you hit the Submit button on your next post, think about what you have said.
Think what you post - would you put it on the front page of the major newspaper with your name included?!

If it is found that you have submitted any material that contravenes the Forum's Rules, or for that matter normal decency, then you will be barred from future participation by immediately having your Forum account closed permanently. The Webmaster has the approval of the Committee to do just that!

LROCV President

It would also be polite if whoever "Admin" is that they also put their name at the end of any contact. This would enable people to know who they are talking to.

As the admin is club appointed position that may change then it is very reasonable that they be identified as "admin" since this relates to the position regardless of time.

I was highlighting that it would be polite for them to identify themselves. The forum is not a TV reality show where there is a deep unknown voice issues instructions. The only reason I can see for not identifying themselves is that they do not want to be known.

All club members know who the webmaster and admin is.
It is advertised in the monthly magazine and at club meetings. As far as GUESTS are concerned it is totally irrelevant who admin is as they would not know me from a bar of soap. I am here to keep the forum under control and I will continue to do so.

Pam, I am not a member of the LROCV and I know who you are. But I did not know you were Admin.

I do not know what most of the responses above are about. I have not said the admin person is good, bad, or indifferent. Only that it would be nice for you to put your name on your posts. As you did with your last. So thankyou for responding to my request to do so.
