Hello Neighbours,
Having got the beast last Thursday it got hail damaged Saturday. Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad
Having it assessed this week. I hope they don't write it off as I got a good deal when I bought it. Very Happy

Well this is my question: I need a good CB Radio for it, any sugestions? I would not like to pay a fortune for it as I want a Hema SatNav also.
And not having a winch bar where would be the best place to mount the antenna?

Cya Clay

Hi Clay,

An antenna up high with good line of sight (not blocked by the body of the car) is the idea. The best place is to drill a hole literally in the middle of the disco's roof and place a small aerial there.

But of course not many want to do that. The easiest is on a 'L' or 'Z' bracket on the front left or right quarter panel. I used one of the panel bolts to mount the bracket...very easy. I used a GME AE409L antenna which is 6 & 9dB. http://tinyurl.com/yfgwf8c

Alternatively this is a good antenna and would be good mounted off a bullbar (know you don't have) or a custom mount off the spare wheel. http://tinyurl.com/ygru8b6

I think GME is a better radio manufacturer when compared with Uniden (better circuit boards) but Tait and Icom are in a different league again. I have had my remote head GME (TX3200) for 10+yrs now; never had to replace anything.

Happy hunting...

When you shop around for your Hema, contact Andrew at http://gobushcamping.com.au/ He's a club member and was the best price when I bought mine.

Cheers, Murray
