Well, the first time I've attended Wandin, camped the night, have a yap and some booze and in general a good time

Was very dissapointed to have a gent in a LROCV shirt come up late in the night (It was my music everyone Very Happy ), waving his arms, pushing and shoving (not me conveniantly for his health) screaming to turn the music off, now last I knew, if you were to ask someone to do something, the general approach is, "G'day, mateys, mind turning the music off/down" not "Turn the ****ing music off", then argueing and start shoving people Rolling Eyes

Thanks to the gent that came down afterwards and kindly asked us to shut the music up Laughing , which was done...........amazing the cooperation that you'll recieve when you don't act like a donkey Smile

It depends what time it was. If it was before 10.00pm then fair enough, someone just has to ask nicely to turn the music down or off.

If it is after 10.00pm then you deserved getting yelled at. (without the violence. ) It is so annoying when you go away camping and people have no thought for anyone else around them.

It was well after 10, it wasn't excessively loud and camped away from anyone

At the end of the day, its not how you approach anyone, unless you actually wan't to get bashed, regardless of time, especially wearing your clubs clothing Rolling Eyes

You obviously showed no thought for people in the camp area by playing music late, so why should anyone show thought for you by asking nicely.

But I have to admit, this has happened to me before and I did ask nicely the first time. The second time I was not so nice, and I am big enough to put someone down. Wink

Those who volunteer and have to be up at 5:00am
do not appreciate being kept awake by the hoon factor.
Without those volunteers the show wouldn't happen.

Loud music and generators are NOT recommended after
10:00 pm.

I believe you got what you asked for Evil or Very Mad

If you need to listen to your music late at night while others want to sleep, show some consideration and buy an iPod and earphones. Then you might find people a bit more friendly towards you.

I was going to get out my bag pipes for a practice but thought better of it for my health and safety.

Rovercare? Or should it be Roverdontcareaboutothers. The music was loud enough at midnight to hear by us sitting the other side of a camper over on the fence. I do recall a little mention about the noise last year by a couple of happy campers but that was noise that only worried the guy who's caravan we were outside.

Someone brought their drive-in theatre which was about the same distance away and we didn't hear a thing from them. We could see it are useless at lip reading.

Common decency when camping is that the level of music follows the sun. When it goes down, so does the music.

I agree with all comments re loud music, late at night, camping etc - don't mix; and also that "common decency" means you ask nicely the first time.

Not everyone abides by the rules of common decency, unfortunately - both those that fly off at the sound of loud music late at night, and those that play loud music late at night when camping...

I don't like the implied threats of violence (or actual shoving). It simply not on. Violence like this is not acceptable in any form and certainly not on an LROC event....

This little story tell me never to attend over the Sat night...

Bryan.

Bryan,

The vast majority of people who camped there were safe, happy and respectful for each other. Don't forget there are 2 sides to every story and, like A Current Affair, sometimes the whole story does not come out.

Everyone is most welcome, but it does require some basic social skills and respect for others.

Exactly Wink

Sleep deprivation is enough to make anyone crack a wobbly.
Especially if they have to be up early.

The easiest way to stop this from EVER occuring again is to restrict overnight camping to LROCV members only, and at this point in time that decision is solely with the 4WD Show coordinator and him alone.
